About us

HF Matters is a small, independent company providing specialised human factors (ergonomics) consultancy services, particularly in the context of complex, high technology systems such as in Air Traffic Management (ATM).

The company was created in 2005 by Christopher Kelly and Emmanuelle Jeannot both of whom have worked in the human factors field for many years.

Chris has over 25 years of human factors experience working on a wide range of civil and military projects. He worked for the defence technology and security company QinetiQ for 12 years (including its predecessor organisations DERA and DRA). Prior to that Chris was a Research Psychologist at the BAE SYSTEMS Advanced Technology Centre (BAe Research Centre at the time).

Emma has over 15 years of human factors experience. For 5 years she worked (in the UK) for the defence technology and security company QinetiQ. Prior to that Emma worked in France for various organisations including EUROCONTROL. Her wide-ranging experience includes working in telecommunication, banking and military training domains. She also holds a qualification in advertising and marketing. Emma is French and fluent in English, her working language since 1995.
